Eric Maxon Receives 2019 AZA International Unsung Hero Award!
March 11, 2019
Eric Maxon, our President, has always been one for being involved in the community. It’s a quality he’s always instilled in us here at Steward’s Plumbing, and we’re proud to be able to give back however we can. For years, Mr. Maxon has been heavily involved with the local Jewish Community Center, currently serving as the Board President for the JCC of Albuquerque. He has served in numerous other Jewish community organizations and outreach projects.
Among those outreach projects is his volunteer work with the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO). The BBYO has allowed him to pursue his passion of helping to guide and develop Jewish teen leadership in the community through a number of educational and guidance programs. Eric initially connected with BBYO as a teen officer in 1980, and has continued his service as an adult, becoming an advisor and city director for the Albuquerque chapter. It’s through this service that he was recently selected to receive the 2019 AZA International Unsung Hero Award!
The Unsung Hero Award is given to only one BBYO advisor internationally every year, which makes this one of the highest honors anyone involved with the organization can receive. He was given the award at the BBYO International Convention, which was held over President’s Day weekend in Denver, Colorado.
This isn’t the first award Eric has received from the BBYO. He has been named the Rocky Mountain Region Advisor of the Year 10 times, and received the International Advisor Excellence Award.
Other Charitable Work
Eric Maxon is involved in far more charity and volunteer work as well. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the North American Backflow Association, and is part of the local IAPMO group and the Construction Industry Division of New Mexico Medical Gas Code Revision Committee. In the past he served as president of the Albuquerque Sales and Economic Development Group. Today, he continues to serve as the Secretary for the Senior Housing Board, and is involved with the New Mexico Mission of Mercy Dental Foundation, where he helps install fully-operational dental chairs.
And he does all of this while continuing to run one of the most successful full-service plumbing companies in Bernalillo County!
We can’t think of anyone more deserving of such an exclusive and prestigious award, and we’re extremely proud or Mr. Maxon and all he’s accomplished.
